My friend has been told that Christmas trees represent Naziism. I know this may open a hornets nest but can someone tell me why this is?

He used to seal his letters with hot wax, using the thingy at the end but it's main purpose was to dangle his timepiece. He used to turn it upwards to put the watch in his waistcoat pochet.My grandfather did the same and called his his little Albert.

the Nazis did try to stress the pagan elements of pre-Christian Germany, so there's some truth in this; but as everton has pointed out, trees have been around a lot longer than Nazis. Just because they used them doesn't mean we can't.
