In 1981 my parents and myself bought our council house, all our names were on the deeds. My parents have now removed their names from the deeds, and I am now the sole owner. They were because of age( 91 and 84 ) and disability and income entitled to a 50% reduction in council tax, this was when I was in full time employment. I am 62 and on state pension. Will we now not be entitled to the same reduction in our council tax, because they are in effect living with me and not home owners.
If you go to the web site of your local Council it should tell you if you are eligible for any Council Tax Benefit. It all depends upon your income and amount of savings you have.
