Thankyou ummmm. Since Nov, the level for savings has increased to £10,000 if you get pension credit without it affecting housing or council tax benefit. I knew I had read it somewhere and have just gone through my SAGA mags to confirm this (June 2009 edition). Been very lucky to have been left some money and wanted to be sure I was still on the right side of the law! Problem now is do I leave it in bank, seeing manager tomorrow, or do I buy something nice to myself which will not depreciate in value hopefully.
