Son going to Afgahastan

Who can you talk to when this is happening?
I would like to be able to talk to some people to just let off steam and then I can be strong for the family. We had a son that was wounded in Sareavo, who is all right now, but the fear that this can happen again is scary.
Please only serious anwers .

Easy to say Tambo. But xstitcher's fears are so totally natural.
We encourage our children to go their own way and never try to discourage them or show our fears, but that doesn't mean we can't be worried or need to talk to someone about it. Difficult to enjoy the thought of a son going off to Afghanistan, surely?

The places to go for this type of support are generally well-known - this is the one for the Welsh Guards, but all regiments have them.

Start at the Regimental HQ of wherever your son is attached to.

Your son has chosen his path.....he's doing what he enjoys. Everyday has its dangers (my fear is a bus running me over). My kids and their outlandish sports of sky-diving/skiing/white-watering/bike trials/mountineering/equestrian....turn my stomach to jelly so now am told after the event.
Your son is living his life his way......enjoy his choices.
