Tincture can be abbreviated as TR, and an AD might be classified, though I can't guess what TRAD would have to do with an alchemist.

I couldn't get 'To A T 'out of my mind. Being Azed he doesn't give the number of words.
An alchemist's tincture in alchemy is a bufo, which is the Latin genus for toad, also a synonym for bufo. (but where the "to" in the clue comes from I don't know !)
