just purchased the above and downloaded itunes.
but why are they asking for my credit card details after the download,,when i know that i am not going to purchase anything??????

Just ignore it. If you're not going to be using/buying from the iTunes Store, in iTunes go to Preferences > Parental and disable 'iTunes Store'...
