movie easter eggs

i have heard something about movie easter eggs but never knew wot they were. is it some kind of bonus thingy, will someone be able to explain in more detail and maybe give me a couple of examples what u mean???   many thanx

They are just hidden features on DVDs that aren't normally easily accessible; you have to get to them by pressing certain buttons on your remote or selecting 'hidden' menu options.

My fave is on one of the Lord Of The Rings DVDs - one of the 'chapters' actually takes you to Gollum's hilarious MTV Awards speech.
