Please explain answers,.. I can see 'egg on' grown' and 'yankee' or 'yonker' will fit but don't know why

8d no = nay, revolutionary means reverse that = yan not totally eager = kee(n)

11a. Grown (GR = King George, own = to have)
8a. Yankee (nay reversed + not totally kee(n))
