My poor husband has broken several ribs after having an accident at work last week. Since then they 'popped' when he coughed and this caused him agonising pain and another trip to A&E. Unfortunately there is nothing they can do except give him pain killers and tell him to rest. This is still causing him so much pain and he is unable to do anything except sit there! Even doing this takes him 5 mins to sit down. Please does anyone have any further tips or ideas on how he can help himself heal quicker or to take the pain away.

Ouch! I get ribs which pop out of place from time to time and it's horribly painful.

My osteopath gets mine back in line but not sure they could help with broken ones.

Sounds like a job for strong painkillers and lots of rest and keeping still while they heal and maintaining a good posture so they heal right.
oh nasty, i had to sleep sitting up on the sofa for about 2 weeks when i bust a rib. i took arnica, but not sure if it helped really. heres a link to look at in case you are interested.
