weaving cord with fingers
5 Answers
Hope this is the appropriate category! When I was at school and those knotted friendship bracelets were all the rage, I was taught a different method of making cord. I can only remember half the method and am hoping someone can fill me in.
1. Take 5 pieces of yarn, about twice the length of your forearm.
2. Double them over and tie all the ends in a knot.
3. Pin it to something stable (used to be our skirts or between our knees.
4. Hook three fingers into three of them and two fingers of the other hand into the other one.
5. Here's where I get stuck - you kind of hook and swap the cords over and over until the cord is woven. You can't stop until you reach the end.
Does anyone remember this?
