loopyloo, I live in the north so I cant advise you where to go but I can tell you where NOT to go and that is the Ravi Shankar in Drummond street.

I went there with my wife and I almost ended up giving one of the waiters a smack in the mouth, this restaurant offers the rudest waiters in Britain, the most surly ill mannered manager/owner I've ever met and house rules that defy belief.

For example when my wife asked for a glass of water she was told that they dont supply tap water because there is no profit on it, she would have to buy a soft drink, when she said she didn't want a soft drink they asked us to leave.

Hi loopylou,

Happy Birthday to your Mum!

This restaurant "The Red Fort" is supposed to be one of the best Indian Restaurants in London.Have a look at their website and see what you think.

Bon Appetit!

The Cinnamon Club near Westminster/St James's Park is very good, although a bit pricey.

Another good one is Chutney Mary in Fulham (on the King's Road, I think).

The cinnamon club is fantastic, also a bit of a celeb haunt!
