Is it true that heightened security in the UK is delaying mail? I hear that Post Offices are being subjected to checks.

Does it really matter if it does?.....who in their right mind would say no--someone untoward reads this and thats a window putting the posties at risk!

I haven't seen anything in the papers.Mind you I don't always believe what they say!!
I do know that two letters which I received today ,one from Kent,one from London took five days to arrive here in Norfolk.
I suppose they go through Mount Pleasant so,yes,
they could be checking stuff.

Eh? So a terrorist logs on, reads this and gets an idea? Don't think so.

Some of my mail is being held up and I'm being told specifically that security is going up. Seems reasonable to see if it is.

If anything, major sorting depots may have x-ray sorting machines.  They may do random checks or on large parcels that are being delivered to government agencies.

Most military parcels are checked on base anyway.

I posted a load of stuff that I sold on ebay 2nd class last week - most got them and left feedback 2 days later, so I would assume not.

lol, yep. Saw Tony Blair on telly talking about security checks at ports, I guess both of us will be in the dock soon.
