I have had a not my fault accident a month ago.  The other party have accepted resposibility so we thought everything would go through quickly.  How wrong we were.  The car is still at the garage waiting to find out if it will be a rightoff.  The questions i would like advice on are:-  Does a claim usually take this long? and I only had the car for a week before we had the accident and we took out a warranty to cover major parts failing are we able to claim back for this as the company say we can not cancel under any circumstances?  Thanks.

I can only guess that with it being summer some of the insurance assessors are away on holiday and those covering may have other areas to look after?
Blimey! I had an accident a couple of years ago. They took the car away the same day and I had it back within a fortnight (this was with Morethan)

If they are investigating some part of the claim, it can take a while.

With the warranty, ask the compnay to put it to you in writing that you can't cancel. If ttey do, its probably true as they won't want to commit anything to writing which isn't true.

99.% of motor claims that i have in some way been involved in have taken (and i kid you not) 2YEARS
the motor claims industry is an UTTER DISGRACE
