OK I cant get to see GP until next week, with any luck this will be gone by then anyway.

The last 2 weeks I have had very sore and painful breasts. I can touch them without pain and there are no lumps or bumps.

At first i put it down to hormones as i had my period (though it had never done it before) but now im wondering what is causing it.

The pain isnt constant, i do have an ache in one more than the other, but turning in bed can cause a feeling almost like ripping.

The ache can sometime feels as if its down my side slightly too and underneath.

Last time my boobs felt like this i was pregnant, but unless Im one of those women who can go months and months before finding out shes pregnant and never showing a bump (and if you ever saw me pregnant youd know thats not true) then thats ruled out.

So im wondering what on earth it could be. Im not large chested in the slightest so it cant be weight and strain on them lol

It's not cancer.

Almost certainly interstitial mastitis probably hormonal in origin.

Don't worry.

Sqad,
I know sometimes people complain about your to the point posts. But thank you xx

would mastitis affect both at once? I always thought it was just connected to breast milk. Didnt consider it could happen at other times. Perhaps i shall now brave google :)
red.

I don't care about people...this is AB....a cyberservice........they don't have to like me.

Yes, it normally affects both breasts.
Don't care about people Sqad?

Those are the people that "I don't care about"

ah whats it matter :) Youve put my mind at rest for now, Sqad.

Have googled mastitis and it says theyd be red and inflamed, but theyre not. Am going without bra today in case they are causing it or something lol
red.......not so.....in acute interstitial mastitis, maybe so, but redness and swelling does not preclude the diagnosis.

Going without a bra eh? ;0-)

sqad, for me no bra almost equals no boobs :)
:-).....quality...................not quantity.
Hi red
I had this problem from age of 38 and was told it was pre-menopause problems (it has to start at some time I was told). I take a hormonal tablet two weeks a month and it cleared up the problem. My breasts are full of micro-cysts, hence the problem. HTH

Im 37, hadnt even considered that it could be pre-menopausal.
