My 10 yr old, female westie has been bringing up her food for the past 4 days. She was at the vets on tuesday and he gave her Canaural ear drops for an infection. I thought maybe this or the infection could be making her unwell. I have tried her wtih scrambled egg, cooked chicken etc. but she still vomits.Sheisn't bringing it up straight away maybe 3-4 hrs later. She still has an appetitie as a couple of times she has reaten the food she has brought up. Wld this make her worse. If she isn't any better by monday going to take her to vets again. Anyone any suggestions. Joanne Brown

Good Morning Capri

I would ring the vets today and ask advice over the phone as to the next course of action, if it is worrying you that much. Vets opinion on why food is being vomited will ease the mind.

As long as she is drinking a lot whilst her ear infection is being treated, hopefully will improve.

I wish her well.
totally agree with the above post - in addition try boiling a little white fish (without stating the obvious check and check again for bones) or chicken, give a tiny, tiny amount - if this stays down repeat in an hour then gradually add a little boiled rice then aim for about five tiny, tiny meals per day. Of course it is possible the vomitting is unconnected with the ear infection (although unlikely) in which case the general rule is to starve for 24 hours then start with the food as above. Good luck and keep us posted.
The big question is is she drinking water and does it stay down. If she is getting sufficient hydration then the food thing is not such a worry but if she's not keeping water down, the phone the vet NOW
