Question about self certification

Wednesday last week i was ill so i said i was going home and told the relelvant person of what i was doing which was at about 15:40 (i finish at 17 30 in the week). I understnad that the first 3 days I can self certify sickness myself but when would the first day of that be, would it be the first whole day which would be thursday ? Anyone able to explain please

Does the question mean you are planning on being ill tomorrow too? If you go in tomorrow it shouldn't be an issue

I called nhs direct and explained the symptoms and i was advised to let the symtoms come to a stop then give myself 48 hours to go back to work, symptoms didnt stop until yesterday so earliest i can go back is tuesday. I can only self certify for 3 days so when would the first day be, would it be the thursday or would it start the wednesday
