Wages query ?

This month (today) our wages have been paid by cheque, Obviously by the time we can get into the bank on Monday coming and the time it takes to clear, we are a week or so behind receiving our money.
We are normally paid into our bank account on the 30th of the month.
We never get our wage slips on time, It has been known to get them a month later.
Any one got any advice ?

I would take a slightly more pragmatic approach. I have no doubt the experts can tell you your exact legal position, but I would be more interested in what is the reason for the payment by cheque? Are the firm hard up and in trouble? If so get the cheque in quick and pray. It may be that you have to be grateful for small mercies........it might not continue for too much longer, when you attempt to get them to play by the rules may be too late.......

They are a small concern and buy the value brands in everything.
They are very tight and dont like spending money.
I thought maybe it was something to do with being only 28 days in the month.
We cant do anything with the cheque now until Monday.

Everybody at work is terrified of the boss as she is a bully, not with me, as I am older and stand up to her.
I was going to do something about it but there is no support from the others even though they all moan so I thought why bother ?
