Please help me find Valerie Taylor.
On the 28th November 1942 THE NOVA SCOTIA was sunk by a German U-boat off the coast of Natal, South Africa. Alda Ignisti (maiden name: Lorenzino) was the sole woman survivor. I have written a feature screenplay with that dramatic sinking at its core and based the story loosely on Alda Ignist's life at that time. After the war she married Robert Taylor, an officer in the British Army who later became a financier in England. Alda became Lady Taylor. The screenplay did well in an international competition and now an agent wants to submit it to a film producer but first of all I have to obtain the permission from Lady Taylor's heir, Valerie Taylor, to use her mother's name and some of her experiences at that time in the screenplay before a film can be made. All my efforts to trace Valerie Taylor have failed. PLEASE can anyone help me?

It is likely that on Monday your phone number, address and email details will be removed from the post by the editor as they are contrary to Site Rules.
However, I am sure that many ABers will investigate your problem for you, and you should get a few useful answers. They will post them as answers to this thread and you will need to check back here regularly, rather than expecting people to contact you personally and directly. A lot of users value their anonymity and are wary of contacting people directly.
I am sure you will receive help, through the channels designed by ABE and the techies and that have worked for several years on here already!
Will do a search now myself - using UK sources I might know better than you do as you are based in Canada.

I'm not a lawyer but I don't understand why you need the permission of a descendent to use the name and character of a dead person. Are you also getting permission of the family of the ships captain? Did the makers of "Alexander" need to get permission from his descendents?
People write unauthorised biographies all the time, why not a film? You cannot libel a dead person.
