Fed up with my new role
13 Answers
hello, recently everyone in my team have temporary changed roles so therefore we are all doing Excatly the same work etc. but the Admin seems to be doing more work than the Analyst. should i ask for a pay rise? the analysts are getting paid almost double than the admins which i find it realy unfair. although this role will only last couple months or even a bit more, should i still ask for a bit more? i really hate my new role so if the manager says no, then i prob just hand in my notice... ...

tamborine,
i have 2 computing degrees, but they have over 10yrs of experience. i was employed as a data admin supporting the analyst, but because the role has changed for three or so months everyone is now a customer service where i have more experience than them as they have never worked in a call centre or customer service role which i have.

Hi WhiteBears. You don't say for how long you have been doing this new role, but presumably you accepted the change to have started it. The cost of living expenses issue won't get you anywhere as they have not increased since your role change. The problem is down to 2 different rates of pay for the same duties. The answer, I regret, will probably be 'tough'. Society is giving you good advice - the jobcentres are full of people who have not secured a new job before resigning from the old one.
Well i spoke to my manager if i could have a pay rise, due to the fact i have been working hard and showed proof that i have taken the most calls and actioned most of the emails than the guys whose being paid twice as much as me since we started our role (1st Feb). He said 'no' not even a slight increase. so i said how come these guys are getting paid twice as much as me but doing exactly the same role? he said he know its unfair for the admins but should really decrease the analyst's wage, but that wont happen or they would leave.... then he goes it dosnt have a say in who gets an increase............. but i know that one admin got an increase in January. im really really fed up i hate this new role.... i know its only till end of march or maybe till June but i am ready to handin my notice... :'( i am so going to slack tomorrow and divert all my calls to them.
