mini curling
5 Answers
Many many years ago I was working in the Far East and was living in an American base camp which had excellent recreational facilities. One of the games I became addicted to involved a long narrow table ....about the length of two pool tables; the width about half of the pool tables. The surface of the table was of very highly polished and smooth segments.the tools of the game were steel discs not unlike curling stones without the handle.....The idea of the game was to propell these discs along the table and score points.....Not unlike bowls I suppose. Anyway any information will be greatly appreciated..S.O.G

It is a brilliant game of skill and accuracy but having checked it out on line the table game ( table plus all accesories) could cost an arm and a leg so I don't suppose pubs would want to install it unti
I was going to mention shove ha'penny too.
This looks like something that could be made/'bodged' fairly easily from scrap materials.
Also, maybe you could give Carrom a go.

Hi Prancer.I checked out the site you sent me and you are probably right it could have come from that family of games. However I don't suppose it matters as it wouldn't take off in this country as we are addicted to darts doms and pool; nothing wrong with that but a little change couldn't go wrong?? S.O.G
