Bodie or Doyle?
I have been watching the re-runs of that classic "The Professionals"- nobody tell me the sweeney was better because its just not true!
Anyway, I am just in love with Bodie and have gone as far as to nick name the program "The Bodie Show". He definately is the best looking and always gets the best lines and more convincing in the action scenes!
My friend can't understand me and loves Doyle!! She loves his hair!!! Of all things!!! Yuk!!
Anyway, am I insane? Are there more Bodie lovers out there??
ooo and to go back to the undercover celebs.....if the gorgeous Lewis Collins is out there incognito and lonely, I am right here, waiting!!! lol!
Its ok I know you would be older now and slightly more grey!

Inspector morse and write the theme tune sing the theme tune dennis waterman!!! The only good thing about the sweeney is you can sing "the sweeney, the sweeney, do do do do do do do do the sweeney..." along with the music then you may as well turn over!
Because I would bet that if we took a poll, then "The Bodie Show" would win hands down!!
With all their double entendres (sp?), one liners and cheeky grins how could you not resist Bodie when he says "with age comes experience" ? mmmm delicious!!
Professionals was the best cop show ever. Wakka-chooka wakka-chooka wakka-chooka wakka-chooka din nin nin ....... Fantastic theme, never equalled.
As to who's the best, my favourite was always Doyle. Still prefer Marttin Shaw to this day, he's aged so much better than whatsisface (Lewis Collins, I know, I know). Bodie was a bit obvious and in yer face for me (even at my tender years) and if the show was on now, Bodie would be the gay icon - all those tight shirts and trousers and pursed lips. Just toooooo macho to be true, trying a bit too hard you know!????
As for the Sweeney, no contest. Maybe I was just too young, but never got into it. Not just an inferior theme, and the fact that it had Dennis Waterman in it, but The Professionals had the best cop show boss ever (we loved you Gordon!!)
And their numbers 45 and 37 hehe and of course "the cow" Cowley is Alpha 1, love it!!!
I have to say that I heard that Martin Shaw was really bitter a few years after the show because he always thought that Bodie got better lines and that he thought himself to be the better actor but came off worse. Reportedly he made a real stink about some sort of re runs or something but apparently made a lot of trouble and cost them a lot of money.
True Lewis Collins hasn't aged so well but he had further to go!! Martin Shaw wasn't much to look at in the first place so you don't notice it so much!! ; )
