Both of my children have had Wooden Toys. They last a lot longer and offer a lot more to children than a lot of the toys that are currently available.
I found the Brio toys very good and anything that is noisy, colourful and wooden will keep a child occupied, amused and help them learn basic skills.
I have sourced a great many of these toys from a toy shop that is local to me. Mulberry Bush focus on traditional and wooden toys and they have a great selection of toys and games for children of all ages.
Do have a look a Toy Shop with a difference -
