Hello there, I am in the process of fixing up my sons old laptop, a workmate of mine put Microsoft Works on it but I would prefer Windows 03. I have a version of Windows 2000. I would like to know how do I uninstall Microsoft Works and install Windows 2000.
Hope you understand what I mean as I am not too well up on computers.

Think you mean office, not windows (windows is what gives you the desktop and the menus etc you see when you turn the computer, office is a set of programs such as word, excel power point and several others.)

You don't need to uninstall works to install office, just put your office CD in the CD drive and follow the instructions.

works isn't a huge program, but click start > settings > control panel > add remove programs select microsoft works from the list and click uninstall to remove it.

You may already have got answer which you was looking for, but if you can't find the version of microsoft office your looking for, I would advise maybe downloading microsoft office 2007 (as it is quite easy to use and covers most things ). To see if you like it first ect ect download the 30 day trial which you can do by typing in on www.google.co.uk something similar to "microsoft office 2007 trial"

If you are happy with it and decide that you would like it on your laptop then you can get a full version via a torrent which is also quite simple to use.....and gives you a full version for free!!

If needed I will give you step by step instructions as to the torrent download?

Google "Open Office" and download it free. It is pukka, coming from Sun corp.
It does alla full Office suite does but is free.
It is fully compatible with Office files.

This is a bit like saying "if you go to PC World and shoplift the Office disc... you get the full version for free!".
