As a child in Birmingham I was often called our 'bab' or often heard the expression 'hows' the babby'

it's the bairn here as in Scotland butter ♥
bab is a common term in birmingham, duck is less common, I have never said it or knew anyone who has.
marra is actually NW as in Cumbria
Marra is actually from Ashington and the other Pit Villages in Northumberland.
