Zacmaster is spot on.
you must be informed definitely about a disc. hearing.Would imagine also that you would have had previous warnings prior to this.
It is hard to advise without a few more details
Not really, you have to have the chance to give your side.
Sweet! In that case, don't bother going back to work and they can't do anything about it....
Nice try, Mr Bear, and you are not the first person to have thought of this strategy.
It might delay proceedings a little, though not for long.
If the employee hasn't been there a year and there's no danger from invoking one of the 'automatically unfair' reasons for dismissal, it's a simple case of writing to the individual giving notice of 'You're out, Jimmy'.
With longer service, it's a simple case of creating of audit trail of a few letters, inviting attendance, with at least one asserting 'failure to attend or explain absence may lead to your dismissal'.
Closely followed by the final letter that says, 'You're out, Jimmy' (see above)
I thought there must be a catch somewhere :-)
If you have been invited to attend 2 previous disciplinary meetings but you of your representative could not attend, the 3rd can be held without your prescence if you or your representative again cannot attend, you would obviously have still had to be notified of this 3rd meeting however to tell them you cant attend!!
