I burnt my finger on my hair straighteners at about quarter pst 5 this evening, it is only a small burn but it has blistered. I put it under cold running water and since then have been holding it in a cup of cold water. I've taken paracetamol but every time I take my finger out of the water it starts to hurt again. Is there anything else I can do?

Don't leave it in the cold water, take it out and put burn cream on it if you have some other than that other cool creams like savlon or germalene, and try not to knock it around too much or scrape it on clothing etc. Also if it fills with liquid do not burst it otherwise it might well scar.
Aloevera (or aloe vera) is excellent for soothing burns. If you don't have the fresh plant around any cream or lotion containing aloevera would work. This is the most effective thing I've used to take away that 'burning' stinging sensation.

thanks for the answers, I had tried germolene on it but it made it sting more! Is much better today though!
Lavender oil takes the sting out & stops blistering
