Would it be best to lay new lino onto a concrete floor or could i just lay it on top of current lino

I've just taken up the carpet tiles out of my bathroom and found the old lino underneath. It appears to be in fair condition just has sticky marks where the carpet tiles were stuck down, I've lifted it in a corner and the floor underneath is concrete. Would it be best to lay the new on the old or the concrete floor?

Any tips for laying lino would be much appreciated also as this will be my first attempt.

Check the condition of the underside of the old lino. If there's evidence of damp, it's a whole new ball-game. But if it's dry, you're OK to go ahead. Lino has to be fully supported. If the old lino has no gaps, dents, or cracks, and fully fits the floor area, then you can lay on top of it, (remembering about door sill height, etc). If laying the new lino loose on the concrete, it's best to put down a layer of e.g.newspaper first. Google for 'laying linoleum' to get lots more detailled advice.
