Be truthful.
i would say there are pros and cons of both jj

i think same sex schools benefit by no pressure to worry about what boys think of girls and vice versa when going throught the puberty stage and they can concerntrate totaly on lessons with no distractions
mixed teaches boys and girls to work in teams and to compete with each other regardless of gender

I think children have a better time at single sex schools.
i went to a mixed school so cant comment on same sex schools

I prefer mixed, groups of girls together can be very catty, groups of boys together get nothing done apart from acting like apes. They learn to mix with each other and their differences compliment the group dynamic.
I was at a mixed school and it was fine. There was a girls' school next door and it seemed that the girls got quite fixated with the boys in our school - whereas we were used to them in the classroom and it was no big deal.

No, No_Kno ... it's not just about "having a good time"

Academically, children get better results at single sex schools.

The point is ... do co-ed schools have any benefits which might compensate for the lower exam success ?
I went to a single sex grammar..........but we were bang next door to an all boys boarding school.

not true jayne, there are several single sex schools near my area who are not doing as well as some of the mixed schools.
Apparently the best results come from mixed schools with single sex classes.

I went to a single sex school, and would have preferred co-ed. I think I would have been better prepared for life in general.
My daughter goes to a mixed school, and she has many good friends who are male. I think it teaches teenagers how to have friendships with the opposite sex, rather than being terrified and feeling like they are a different species. I know I went to a mixed school, but it wasn't encouraged to go near boys and as a result I never knew how to talk to them. My daughter has much easier friendships with boys and behaves with them the same way as she does with her female friends and I think this will stand her in good stead as she gets older and starts to form relationships.
