Im trying to put vids on my iPod that i have downloaded. i convert them, then i sync them to my ipod but they have no sound. am i doing something wrong or does this always happen?

If you have a mac try instant handbrake.
On windows, i'm not too sure... either try super:

Did you use iTunes to convert video? If so, change another converter for a trial. cause iTunes cant convert muxed video, many users complaint that video converted by iTunes has no sound. You can refer here for more info about it.
