I am hoping to make a quilt for my sister for her 50th birthday. I want to scan photos onto fabric and make a quilt.
I have done some research but all suggestions re techniques, fabrics, technology would be welcome!!

Can't help at all sorry, but just wanted to say, what a lovely idea.
You could perhaps use cotton sheets for the fabric. You can readily get Iron-on T shirt transfer paper. It comes with instructions. Just select your photo, (N.B. remember to reverse it first), then print it, trim it if necessary, and iron it onto the fabric. The problem with the printable cloth is that it has to be very thin to go through any printer.
