I don't think a setter would get something so wrong. There is a river in Germany which is an anagram of a bird.

Thanks Mazie. Maybe you do not want to give the answer but can you give an extra clue or hint either to the name of the river you are thinking of or the bird.

Hi halcyon days. I went to google, typed in german rivers and Wikipedia. took me to the wiki site. I then looked at all the rivers with 5 letters and put them into chambers...(the links below). it took me less than 10 minutes to come up with a bird. I could be wrong and it could be an answer that you already have but it is worth a try.

Thanks Mazie, I did come up with a German river starting with the letter E----. A type of duck, but there was no need to mix the letters so I disregarded it, could I have been wrong.

Ok, I have found that bird. Did not know it and had to look it up to see what it was like.
Quite surprised that this one should be one of the answers as all the others seemed to quite common birds.
