Just wondered why his Dad came home earlier before the boy had been found, no mention of money changing hands. Who is bringing the lad back home?

The lad was found in a field sitting on the bl***dy safe, the guy who found him had opened the safe then took the lad to the police but said nowt about the money. Result one happy guy with full pockets, and one happy lad waiting for his stupid dad who went home earlier without him.
