dog throwing up and bleeding from backside

hiya we have a lovely little cross of a yorkshire terrier / jack russell whos not been well for the past 2 days. She seems ok in herself but has constantly been throwing up followed with dirrohea, but what really worries us is thta she i bleeding from the back passage also. We didnt feed her any food yesterday hoping that if it was a bug then i would clear but dispite ''starving'' her yesterday ive come down this morning to find that throughout the night she has done it again. Can anyone shed any light on the matter on what this could possibly be? thanks

I would get her to the vet as soon as poss, hope she is OK.

The bleeding could be from a ruptured blood vessel if the blood is bright red. Much more serious if the blood is dark brownish. But you must get vets advice immediately.

I am surprised that you have posted on here instead of getting her an emergency appointment at the vets. Any bleeding is potentially very serious. Get her to the vets urgently.

blood is bright red. Rang vet and she said that stopping her food for 24 hours was the right thing to do and its only serious if she bleeds from her backside without passing fecal matter along with it. ive got to try her with a bit of dry food tonight and see what haooens then :) fingers crossed xxx

Vomit or diarrhoea containing blood.

I too am surprised at the vets advice.

When there is blood involved it could be something very serious.

Are her vaccines up to date?

Yes I am surprided at that advice too. We had tum troubles when our pups were smaller. Odd times they used to pass blood with the runs and the vet said that was because the gut got ulcerated and if that happened I MUST take him in....thought I was going to live there at one stage when they kept passing tummy bugs back and forth between them

I had a pup who had parvo virus and bled when she passed motions. She needed help quickly. Fortunately, she was OK, but had to spend a good few days in the doggy hospital.

If I were lotsafun, the dog would be taken to a vet (another one!) pronto!!
