at the time i asked the police if this was likely to have any negative effects on future visists to the country as at the time i was looking to move out there.they said it wouldn't
i think when you're arrested for drunkeness etc. there's a slightly different procedure, called 'encapping' in the states which i don't think it means it goes on record.
Anyhow,I had no problems at customs when I returned for a fortnight in 2000, although obviously that was before 9/11.
