A friend of mine (who is not technically minded) owns a small local pub that has attracted quite a few business people at lunchtimes, a few of them have suggested that he installs a free WiFi system.
so he has asked me to find out what this involves, amongst other questions are.
1. about how much would it cost.
2. are there ongoing charges.
3. is it easy to set up or would there be a lot of disruption.
4. who would he contact to get it installed.
5. are there any drawbacks to having this facility.

2) about £20 a month
3) very easy, it's the same as home wireless, no disruption.
4) probably nobody, can be done by anyone.
5) if he already has ADSL broadband into the pub for home use he would really need another phone line (assuming he only has one currently)

Look at the £20 month option, the cheapest is limited usage.

Should have added for point 5

Although it is very easy to install, it may be worth getting somebody who knows a bit about computer security to install it and setup some of the content filtering and protocol filtering on the BT hub otherwise they may be at risk of becoming liable for people doing things liki downloading music using the connection.
