As you may know, I always do my best to answer any legal questions, as I have a law degree, am working for my LLM, but am admittedly not yet qualified. I, and others, do however have access to a range of legal sources more reliable than google.
I think the section could go ahead, so long as it had a caveat that was similar to that at the head of "money and finance" - reminding people that you don't really know who's advising you or if they're qualified to do so.
Assuming people don't think that all the people on here who try to help with legal questions are liars/morons, then this would be a great idea lucyshandbag! :-)
Indeed smudge - a good caveat at the top, and perhaps reminders as we post. I do try to remind people that it's only an LLB that I have. I don't pretend to be qualified!
I'm glad someone else remembers how rudely the idea got poo-pooed last time.
ABE - when you next consider new topics, please think seriously about this idea. It could be a forum for genuinely useful information sharing. Something that I know the site was set up to enable! :-)
and surely the point of using this site is to gain other peoples opinions or personal experiences on certain subjects, not always 100% facts. like you say, it could have a warning so people know to consult a solicitor or CAB or something. it would just be handy to be able to ask other peoples advice/opinions on legal stuff when you're not sure.xx
