Under dictatorial Labour, shouldn't we all now be forced to register under the new child protection laws?
After all don't we all at some time or other, come into contact with children?

I understand the need to protect children but this is working from the wrong end. If we locked up the ones we catch and throw the key away, then the normal population would not have endure the whole guilty until proven inocent rigmarole. All this will do is discourage normal people who work however indirectly with children.
I'm wondering how much it will cost us.
The current CRB checks are a money making scam and I bet this latest government wheeze is the same.
I currently have separate CRB checks for my son's Cub Scouts, my son's swimming club, my daughter's Guides, a kids sports club I help run, a diving club I help run, and SIX for the different colleges I teach in (I'm self employed). That is a total of ELEVEN CRB checks, at a cost of £36 each.

Good on you mrs_overall, continue the good work you are doing for the kids, I know it is sometimes hard work and sometimes inconvenient, plus the backlash you get from some parents of the kids you are "looking after".
But what the hell, when one sees those children's faces enjoying the various pursuits that one is supervising, then it is all well worth it.
What I cannot understand is, why these days does one have to personally pay for all the various government insisted documentation etc.
Never did we have to pay in the past, ID cards free of charge, Ration books free of charge, Gas masks free of charge, even air-raid shelters once again free of charge.
If we ever needed these items today, the only persons who would be entitled to get them free, yes those on "Benefits" and of course if one lived in Scotland.

AOG, Is everything going to be free if the Conservatives get in,will they repeal all these charges for CRB's, ID Cards,Passports, etc and make the Benefit Brigade pay for everything.? I don't vote, but if they are going to do all that I will certainly make an effort to ensure they get mine and my family's vote.
