ID Varification Virgin Media

I am wondering if the e-mail from Virgin Media is `bona-fide` and not a `phishing` one as it has requested all my security Q`s including my bank details and failing to give them, they will cut off my account. I am wondering if anyone with Virgin has received the same e-mail from them. It looks like a very genuine form to fill in from them, with their logo`s etc. I have been with Virgin for about 4 years and never had to do this before, plus I pay by DD so I don`t owe any money to them.

It does sound like a phishing scam. Why dont' you check with them by phoning 150 from your landline.

Does the email address you by name? If it just says 'dear customer' or similar then it is a definite scam. If it actually says dear carlton (whatever your real name is) then it may be genuine and you need to phone Virgin to check for sure before entering any info on a website.

I have been trying that, but have you ever got though to a security person???? They send you all over India.

Why don't you phone one of the shops then and ask their advice, or if there is one near you pop in!!

The e-mail has my net address, but I`m just called Dear Customer.

hoover your mouse pointer over the top of any link in the mail and look down the bottom left of your browser and it should tell you where the link points to. if it's doesn't start www.virginmedia.com it's defiantly a scam.

if you want to get to speak to someone quickly phone there new order line then just explain to them about the email.

Virgin would NEVER ask for your bank details in an email.

While it may look genuine anyone can find virgin logos on the internet and "make up" an email or web site.

Is this serious ? It is blatantly obviously a scam. No compnay sends e-mails asking for financial details. Especially if they already know them.

Move on folks, nothing more to see here.

To anyone still reading, I have received a massive fortune that's in a foreign bank and need to get it to the UK, so I need someone to send me a small deposit, say £5000, and I'll let them cash it for me for a huge reward. Please be in touch.

Anyway do you think ANY company would threaten to cut of your account in an email.

Virgin a LOOKING for customers, not looking to cut ones off who are paying each month by direct debit.

PLEASE dont fall for this type of scam, treat EVERY email you get as suspicious.
