Hi, it depends if you want one from a scrap yard ( that's what I would go for) or for new, for a new one + fitting I do not think you would get much change out of £150+ Its not a big job to tackle Flipfnflap, are you mechanical minded? if so, you could do the job under 2 hrs, have a look on EBay or 247 car spares, if you leave your cars details on here I will check around for you, The VIN + Reg No will do, your VIN No will be on your V5.
Jesus Flipnflap, pay my expenses & I will come and do it you ( That's a joke) for a start, do not use your dealer contact a local family garage, with Renault you are paying for the name, when will people ever learn, That last statement is not directed at you Flipnflap. where are you in the UK? ( If in the UK)
the chances are on a 7 year old vehicle they would be replacing all the brake fluid , and its quite possible a servo could be £200 + , a couple of hours labour (dealer rate) + vat..does not take to long to add up
Just to put a little perspective on main dealer prices I recently had to have a drive shaft replaced on a Nissan primera, I got the job done by a local garage who got the part for £130 from a motor factors (I found one on ebay for about £60 but paid the extra to get it quickly) and it was fitted for £170 all in (so £50 labour)
I went to a Nissan main dealer later in the week and while I was in there I asked, just out of curiosity, how much the part would have been from them
It would have been just under £800 just for the part from a main dealer and gawd knows how much they would have charged to fit it!
