Browsing through photos today I noticed that iPhoto was hiding some photos, as in there was a gap where the photos should be, all though if I clicked on the gap it gave me the photo info. Also, a few other photos appear as thumbnails, but then when I click on them, all that comes up is an exclamation mark. Does anyone know what that is all about? Thanks.

It seems that your library might be corrupted. You can rebuild the links. Launch iPhoto holding down the Command and and Option keys, this will give you the dialogue to rebuild your library. Select all options and run. If this doesn't solve it, come back, there are other options
As Milvus says, the links need 'relinking'. Have you moved the photos in question from their original folder... or deleted them?

Hi, cheers for the help. I'm fairly certain I haven't moved or deleted them, but the method you mentioned Milvus didn't work. At least, it did work with one photo which was previously a gap, but there is still another gap, and I still just get the exclamation mark when clicking on the few other photos. Anything else I could try? Thanks a lot.
Choose one of your question mark photos and press cmd i. That should give you the number of the photo. Just check if it is actually in the library. Go to Pictures, iPhone library, right (ctrl) click the Library icon and click show package contents, to show the library. Click Originals and navigate to the picture through year, event etc. If it is in the library then we can go down another route to try and rebuild it.
