Hi, my husbands mate has just asked him if he knows anybody that would make a sponge cake and instead of butter icing over the whole cake he wants fresh cream, can this be done?

Hi tamirra if you are meaning can a baker do that for you cant see why not!
easy to do this yourself! just bake a victoria sponge cake, and buy some whipping cream, whip it , and fill and cover the cake! lovely!................homebaked always tastes so good!...................
Why don't you put cream in the middle and make a ganache for the outside?
A ganache is a mix of cream and chocolate tamirra
sounds great nomercy, as long as you like chocolate!...................
if you do the ganache with white chocolate then you can add flavouring too
ooh I forgot, mix the softly whipped cream 50 50 with mascarpone cheese for a more solid covering
