Trying to get pregnant - back on the pill?
Hubbie and I have been trying for a baby for 9 months. I'm finding it quite disheartening that it's taking so long. I'm not worried anything is wrong, I'm just getting a bit frustrated because I am so excited and can't wait for it to happen! I go on holiday soon and then will be celebtrating my 30th 6 weeks later so am thinking 'sod it' I dont' want to be pregnant anyway (sulky voice). I don't want a period while on hols and having a drink at my 30th party would be good (had thought I'd be pregnant for it) so had the crazy idea of going back on the pill for a few months. I heard this can boose fertility, but not sure how long you have to go back on for?
It just feels a bit wrong - going back on the pill after months of trying.
You're all going to tell me that it'll never happen while I'm stressing about it aren't you? Easier said than done.

It will happen eventually, even though you think it is never going to, I never thought it would, and then about 2/3 weeks ago I did a test and it was positive!! 5 tests later I decided to believe it lol, How long was you you on the pill in the first place? It can take a while for it to come out of your system, I had been trying for a year then I went to the doctors who the referred me for test to make sure everything was ok, they did find I had polycystic ovaries, Im not saying there is anything wrong with you, might just need time, just dont give up.It will happen Im sure. Good luck x
Thanks Ummmmm, it just feels wrong, like i'm going back a step. At least a few months off from the frustration of coming on every month would give me a break.
Congrats sparker, that is such good news! I'm really pleased for you! Perhaps after 'just' 9 months of trying I should stop moaning! I was on the pill for about 13 years so thought it might take a while - just getting impatient.
Yes hubbie and I did decide that anything up to year was perfectly normal and we'd see the doc after that.
Thanks for your reassuring words.

Hi lorla - after trying for two years - and having loads of tests after the first year, I ended up getting pregnant after getting really drunk at a party! Sometimes I think that getting totally relaxed helps and that as long as you give up when you know you are pregnant, having a couple of drinks when you are trying doesn't do you or your future baby any harm. All the best whatever you decide.
It will happen, just try not to think about it all the time ( I know its easier said than done!!) and just relax a little, and enjoy practising :-) I was on the pill for around the same amount of time, but I took longer because of PCOS, I honestly never ever thought I would be on here one day with my own post saying I was pregnant, and when I did the first test this time I cried and cried, because I was happy but also because I was shocked, I got that used to doing tests and them being negative, that when I did it this time I couldnt believe it. dont worry and enjoy :-) x
