I would like to make my own mince using lean meat and nothing added. Many years ago you could buy a stainless steel mincer that clipped onto your work top but I don't know if you can still buy them. Would I be able to mince the meat in a food processor if I bought one?
with a food processer you just use the normal blade and pulse did you get the required consistency, other than through you could chop it yourself. i'm sure you can still buy mincers though - have you tired lakeland?
Thanks for the link mccfluff, that is what I was looking for but then I noticed it said 'Sorry this is no longer available' The meat mincer at £80 is more than I wanted to pay and the mini copper says it chops meat but doesn't say if it minces meat, but thanks for letting me know about Lakeland.
Would be good if you could find out which shop in Manchester Jack as that is where I live and if I could go to buy one it would save me buying over the internet.
i recently made delia smiths black bean chilli which called for the meat to be chopped into small cubes. i did this with a pair of kitchen scissors and to be honest, when the dish was finished, you'd never have known it wasn't minced. i find cutting meat with scissors far easier than doing it with a knife. give it a go and see what you think.
We have a book-thingy somewhere in which we keep business cards, etc. I'm pretty certain that we have the card from the shop in there..........but I'll have to wait until Mrs JtH comes home to tell me where she's hidden it............:o(
I'm sure it's a name along the lines of 'Ryan Thomas' (I know, I know). It was the large paella pan in the window that made us step inside..........
And it was in the city centre. We didn't go very far away from the centre on that trip.
Oii Fluffpot.....I heard that, young miss..........and that's why i came on it ( so to speak!....LOL.....oooh i am naughty! )..........now where's DVD of Pineapple Dance Studios?......:0)
