Hi. I have been offered a job as a home carer. The company has said I will have to pay for my uniform. £15. They want staff to wear a clean uniform every 2 days so would be expected to have at least two. Is it legal for a company to make you pay. Thanks

From the TSSA Union site "Employers may insist on a dress code, and many choose to provide a uniform or a clothing allowance. This is not compulsory for the employer however, and is something you may wish to consider before accepting the job."

...I think Androceles has answered the question.
If what he says is correct then yes it's legal.
You can claim tax relief on what you have to pay, so that will reduce the cost by 20%
