There are simply too many answers to 43: Mayfair would be OK, but so would Strand and even Old Holborn, which was my grandfather's tobacco of choice. Cook and Brown also have way too many variables, and I would argue that "Singer" is at least as good an answer as any: Mel B, Scary Spice would be a good Ms Brown, and James and Joe Brown can do duty as the Mr. Actually, I think that may even be the right answer!
Sorry, yes, you're right - I must be getting tired. That's twice I've embarrassed myself today on your question!. There are some singer Cooks - David is one, there may be others, and I quite like Singer as a very famous brand answer. But as I said, the possibilities are rather wide.
Thanks for your thoughts on no. 43, Zabadak and factor 30 - I hadn't considered the other ciggy brands.
I have Singer as the answer to no. 3 - a sewing machine for Elton John or Shirley Bassey, so I don't think it can be the answer to no.31. Unless of course I've got that one wrong! Like you, I can think of plenty of Ms Browns and Mr Cooks but not both together in occupation that could also be a brand name!
