I could be well off the mark here, but it's just a niggling thought. Lucy try to get your friend to visit her GP or a well womens clinic, it's all confidential.
What a lovely friend you are.....have you told her how worried you are about her. I'd say to her, we are going to make an appointment to see the Doctor, go with her to make the appointment, and go with her on the day of her appointment.

i am eactly the same i got my periods at 17 and they stopped when i was 18, came very irregular for 2 years then i havent seen them since im now 23, i was also very slim size 6-8 its just my build, i ate the same as most teenagers sometimes junk food sometimes healthy and my mums home cooking... my mum thought i had an eating disorder beacuse i was slim, didnt have periods and excersied, well i wasnt that was just normal, my body didnt mature and get the female curves until about xmas there, im now a size 10, although i look the better for it and feel it, my periods still havent returned, but this is supposedly common in females who exercise alot and are of a slim build.
i hope this helps, i wouldnt rush off the deep end, maybe try talking to her without being to over the top..as people made self concious all i got then was "oh your too skinny" , now all i get is "you've put the weight on"
