Tax refund email

Dont know where to post this. Got an email today which looks authentic but makes me suspicious. It comes from HRMC tax office and says Im owed nearly £1000 in taxes. Dodgy?

Scam.
By all means take the link the the web-site..............
If you read it properly it asks for details of the account/card to be *debited*............

Then just ignore it.............:o)

This was done to death last week (under Business I think). Yes it's a hoax. Does it have your name and NI number on- no it doesn't. Hovver over the links in it and is it the HMRC address- no.

Ignore the email, it's a scam, they want your bank details. Taxman only ever writes letters to you, not emails.
HMRC do however appreciate it if you forward the scam email to them at [email protected] so that they can log the phishing emails and try to find out where they are coming from.
