Islamic Terrorism in Russia......

How will Russia respond to this? Will they set up their own Gitmo? Some of the rhetoric is suggesting something extreme. Islam not content with having the great Satan on their case are going for a win double with Russia. Have they no sense whatsoever?

There not necessarily Islamic terrorists as such, they're separitists who wish to break up the Russian Federation and found their own countries.
The Russians have been fighting in Chechnya and Ingushetia for several years now, it's a little bit like our troubles in Ulster/Southern Ireland.
The Russians don't mess about, they'll just kill em.

Its a bit of a problem because they say the suicide women were wives of terrortists who had been killed by Russian forces and they were extracting revenge.

However the women must have been controlled by an organisation probably in Chechnya where Russia has its own hit squads and they will take no prisoners. The relative success of suicide bombers in Iraq and Afghanistan has obviously spilled onto the streets of Moscow and will be difficult to stop. Intelligence is the only answer which has kept the streets of London quiet recently.

I don't think this is to do with Islam, it's to do with imperialism, territory, independence and so forth.

You also have to consider the reality that these groups are weak militarily within their own regions, that is why they struggle to carry the battle to Russian militia and army forces.
Apart from an attack on a police station earlier in the year Ingushetia's been fairly quiet, suicide bombers are just crude guided missiles, militarily it is just a way to go boom.
The effect of this is political rather than strategic, it serves to remind the people that the opponents are still there, even if there's only twenty of them, they can still make an impact.

This is not the first terrorist attack in Russia.

1995 - 100 hostages killed at an hospital
1999 - 300 killed in bombs planted in appartment blocks
2002 - 120 die in theatre attack
2003 - 59 dead by truck bomb, 15 at a pop concert, 46 on commuter train
2004 - 40 die in subway bombs, 92 in Government ministry building 9 at subway station
2004 - 335 die in school attack including 156 children
2004 - 89 killed in pasenger planes blown up

But it would take someone exceedingly stupid to open a concentration camp in the 21st century.

America will never trust Russia and vice versa, that's why it/we are cosying up to Georgia, an awful country with an awful government.

Russia has a funny way of looking at crime, or anything that is wrong in their society.
I once witnessed a murder which I reported within minutes and their answer
" That is not possible we don't have crime in this country. " I tried to persuade them to at least investigate the scene but to no avail.
Our courier who was also KGB warned me that as a foreigner it was not in my interest to pursue the matter.
