Indian food question
2 Answers
I'm trying to find the name of an Indian food, I believe its a vegetable (but not sure) that is prepared as a large spiral disk and fried, I think the names something along the lines of batra, or petrel in parsi. Any suggestions would be welcome.

You can buy cans of it in most Asian grocers (even large Tesco branches sell this in their "ethnic foods" section). Or by mailorder - http://www.simplyspice.co.uk/patra-curried-canned-p-452.html
Or... you can make your own. There's a decent recipe here: http://www.indolink.com/Recipe/SideDish/Vegetarian/recipe18.html
