The judge felt he had no choice but to apply the law as written. He didn't like the circumstances and did what he did with extreme reluctance but his hands were tied. The Home Office agreed to allow the wedding to his long-term partner and then sought effectively to overturn its own decision by seeking to enforce the deportation. The judge was in agreement with the applicant only insofar as he felt the Home Office could not be allowed to chop and change in the way it had sought to do.

Someone what has the mental ability of going out and Raping somebody - in my opinion is only eligible for one sentence - Life in Prison - But, Life actually meaning LIFE, until he dies and no parole. Same for Murders. May be "extreme" to some people, others not. Am I right / wrong?

The law may well be an ass, but the law IS the law and as such has to be applied 'regardless of the circumstances', hence the reason that *Justice* is blindfolded in all representations of her.

It is our law-makers who need to get a reality check.

You really need to get a better insight into the machinations of the law, to be polite.

I do believe the government are to appeal.

the minister said on the radio this morning, that they couldn't stop anyone from getting married, this may be, but do they have to marry in this country.

The earlier deportation notice should override and latter marriage arrangements these two have planned.

If the rapist gets away with it then it opens the door to other migrants to use this route and not be deported.
